If you've been listening to my radio show every weekend, Don Moen & Friends, you might have heard the Special Father's Day Edition we aired yesterday. If not, let me be the one to tell you that nothing is a greater honor in my life than being a father to my five children. The Lord has stretched, grown, challenged, and blessed me more than I could have ever dreamed through these miracles of life! And as amazing as that truth is, none compares to the greatness of our Heavenly Father. He loves and pursues each of us, desiring an intimate relationship with us as He guides and directs our lives. Truly none can compare! So today I pray that you would celebrate any fathers you know, and ultimately, your heavenly Father.
So when my wife and I found out we would be parents, we wanted the Word to a part of our family, residing in the hearts and minds of our children as well. We sat down together and used some of our favorite Scriptures to create a blessing for our children that we prayed with them (and still do) every night. Even if we were apart we would say the blessing over the phone. My oldest daughter actually got to join me on the air for our radio show and recite the blessing with me. It's a powerful thing to have Scripture spoken over you throughout life. That is truth! So here is our Blessing for you to read, use, adapt, or expand however you would like. May you also be blessed by it!

THE BLESSING
You’re blessed when you come in,
You’re blessed when you go out,
You’re the head and not the tail,
Above and not beneath,
You’re the righteousness of God in Christ,
And you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
You’re a winner and not a loser,
You’re more than a conqueror.
You’re walking in favor with God and man and in every good thing from God.
Your body operates in perfection just the way that God ordained it to.
You’re walking in divine health.Our God shall supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose.
Thou wilt show us the path of life, in His presence is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures forevermore, for (insert names of those you’re praying for). The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ keep you in everlasting life eternally. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. |
