April’s Story of Hope comes from our friend Jill, who testifies to God’s protection and faithfulness.
”Some years ago I was on a hike when the mist came down. The second day of the hike was a circular trail back to the hut. We set off early in the morning, but I was getting cold as I hadn’t brought a warm enough windbreaker/anorak so I turned back. We had only gone a few hundred meters when I realized I wouldn’t make it. I set off in what I thought was the direction of the hut, but kept crossing the same firebreak so realized I was walking in circles, being disorientated by the mist. After praying, rather anxiously, Isaiah 30:21 came to mind: Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” I hunkered down near some rocks to quiet myself, and heard ever so gently, ‘See that tree?’ I went to the tree, and sure enough there was the trail ‘footprint’ marked on the back of it. Next I heard ‘See that rock?’… Another marker, and I was able eventually to see the hut emerge from the mist. After an experience like this I can NEVER say God doesn’t guide and protect us!“
